About The Position

Riverhawk Company is a New Hartford–based manufacturer specializing in hydraulic tensioning systems, custom engineered tooling, and precision solutions for rotating equipment across industrial, energy, and emerging technology markets. We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join our second shift (Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-11:00pm) manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling machines to produce high mix, low volume precision components that meet exact specifications and quality standards.

Requirements

Minimum five (5) years of CNC Lathe experience in a manufacturing environment required
Strong understanding of CNC machining principles, tooling, and materials
Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings and GD&T
Experience with tight tolerances and high-precision parts
Knowledge of Feed & Speed
Experience machining stainless steel, alloy steels, and other specialty materials
Familiarity with high-mix, low-volume manufacturing
Familiarity with ISO-style quality systems
Demonstrate excellent safety practices & housekeeping
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
Willingness to work a minimum of eight hours of overtime per week on an as-needed basis during busy times

Nice To Haves

Prior experience setting up and running NLX or Mazak Lathes preferred
Manual machining experience and/or grind experience a plus

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to produce a variety of parts and products to specification
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters
Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
Make program edits and offsets as needed to ensure quality and efficiency
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams
Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements
Adhere to all safety, quality, and company standards

Pay range - $22.50-30.00/hr (please note that this range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skills, and education as they relate to the position's qualifications.)
