As a CNC Lathe Machinist 1, you’ll be at the heart of precision manufacturing - setting up, programming, and operating state-of-the-art CNC lathe machines to bring innovative tool designs to life. Your expertise ensures accuracy, efficiency, and the highest quality in every component produced. Superior Completion Services is currently seeking a second shift CNC Lathe Machinist 1 for our office in Houston, TX. As a second shift  CNC Lathe Machinist 1, you’ll be at the heart of precision manufacturing - setting up, programming, and operating state-of-the-art CNC lathe machines to bring innovative tool designs to life. Your expertise ensures accuracy, efficiency, and the highest quality in every component produced.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required,
  • A minimum of one to three years work-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in communicating with colleagues and in creating a team working environment.
  • Current health, safety & environmental (HSE) training as per division training matrix (Includes both regulatory and SES required courses).
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safe operations.
  • Ethical business practices.
  • Applicable PPE required to complete assigned tasks.
  • Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Understanding written statements in work-related documents.
  • Identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and recommend solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Reads blueprints and sets up the CNC Lathe to machine parts per specifications.
  • Edits the G-Code program to machine parts of varying sizes.
  • Capable of running 2 CNC machines.
  • Set up parts on the CNC machine, including installing jaws, bore jaws, tool offsets, and 1st part prove out.
  • Lifts raw material and attaches it appropriately to the Lathe for
  • Operates the CNC lathe machine to turn raw materials into finished parts.
  • Follows safety precautions and safety guidelines.
  • Operates cranes and overhead cranes as needed.
  • Inspects machined components and records
