This is a SECOND SHIFT position Position Summary: Responsible for operating CNC surface grinder(s) with attention to detail and precise flatness and finish tolerances. Responsibilities include fabricating and polishing/deburring parts and assembly. Must be able to work independently, responsible to complete required tasks in a timely manner. Works with the manager to ensure all fabricated parts and assemblies are machined and assembled to the company’s highest standard.

Requirements

Demonstrate an ability to learn and recognize differences between products
Capable of performing a variety of tasks under general supervision with a certain degree of creativity and latitude as required in accomplishing the task
Ability to setup and run surface grinder; hold high accuracy flatness and finish requirements
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
High School Diploma or equivalent
1-3 years’ experience in an CNC grinder role
Knowledge of general quality inspection procedures
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

Surface grind parts on manual and/or CNC grinding machines
Polish and deburr parts according to finish requirements
Responsible for the cleanliness, organization and general upkeep of the work area
Responsible for the quality manufacture of parts using approved documentation and procedures within tolerances set forth by the engineer, and to report deficiencies
Responsible for timely and accurate completion of all work to the highest quality
Complete daily order processing as assigned
Speak effectively to customers or employees of organization
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Able to use and read basic measuring devices (measuring tape, calipers, etc.)
