CNC Forming Operator – Press Brake
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced CNC Forming Operator to support sheet metal fabrication operations using press brake equipment. This role involves programming, setup, and operation of CNC press brakes to produce precision-formed components while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency. Work Environment This opportunity is within a well-established precision sheet metal manufacturing facility known for producing high-quality components across multiple industries. The environment is fast-paced and production-driven, requiring attention to detail and strong technical skills. Shift Details Training: Conducted on 3rd shift (12:00 AM â 8:30 AM) 1st Shift: 7:00 AM â 3:30 PM Candidates must be flexible to train on 3rd shift before transitioning to 1st shift
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of CNC press brake operation experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Familiarity with materials such as galvanized steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
- Proficiency with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills
- Ability to lift 50â75 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and twisting for extended periods
- Comfortable working in varying temperature conditions
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with graphical CNC interfaces
- Strong organizational skills and situational awareness
- Background in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives
Responsibilities
- Set up press brake equipment, load programs, and select appropriate tooling
- Program CNC interface for forming and bending operations (light gauge panels)
- Perform in-process inspections using precision tools such as calipers and micrometers
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
- Interpret blueprints and make informed decisions during fabrication
- Work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards
