About The Position
The CNC Field Service Technician position offers a unique opportunity for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy hands-on problem-solving. This role is ideal for those who prefer to tackle mechanical challenges independently, without relying on external professionals. The technician will be responsible for traveling extensively across the continental United States, spending three weeks on the road followed by a week at home. This travel-intensive position requires a self-motivated individual who can manage their time effectively and handle various mechanical issues that may arise during service calls. In this role, technicians will be provided with company vans and will be responsible for managing parts inventory and distribution to customers. The workload will vary based on the number of jobs scheduled each week, and the complexity of these jobs will dictate the technician's daily responsibilities. Candidates should possess strong electrical and mechanical skills, with a minimum of three to five years of relevant experience. Familiarity with industrial electrical systems, A/C and D/C drives, and PLC systems is essential, with Siemens Step7 knowledge being a significant advantage. The position also requires basic computer skills, effective communication abilities, and the capacity to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics. Technicians must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and should have a clear and active driver's license, as well as the ability to obtain a passport for potential international travel, although this is rare and typically limited to training purposes.
