About The Position

The CNC Burn Table Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC burn tables, typically plasma or oxy-fuel cutting machines, to cut metal materials according to specifications. This role requires a combination of technical skills, including blueprint reading, CNC programming, and machine operation, as well as attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. This position is an Individual Contributor role. The role directly reports to the Supervisor.

Requirements

• Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret technical drawings and understand cutting specifications.
• Machine Operation: Hands-on experience operating CNC burn tables, including plasma and oxy-fuel cutting machines.
• Material Handling: Proficiency in using overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipment for material handling.
• Measuring Tools: Familiarity with calipers, tape measures, and other tools for verifying part dimensions.

Responsibilities

• Setup and Programming: Prepare the burn table for production runs by selecting the correct programs, setting up torches, and ensuring proper alignment of materials.
• Operation: Safely operate the CNC burn table, monitoring the cutting process and making adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Material Handling: Load and unload materials onto the burn table, often using overhead cranes or forklifts.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished parts for accuracy, remove burrs and slag, and ensure they meet specified quality standards.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on the burn table to ensure optimal performance.
• Safety: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols related to operating the burn table and handling materials.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including material specifications and quality checks.
• Ensure all operations comply with OSHA and company safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, and housekeeping standards.
• Performs other duties as required.
