Pittsburgh Location Position Responsibilities: Clean the Burning machine before start of shift and maintain the area throughout the day. Help load and unload the Burn table. Burn operators must sign and date all Burn sheets they are Burning from. Measure the plate and write the "ON SIZE" of each plate burned on the burn sheet. Review Burn comments. i.e., domestic, +/-, ship drops, mark pieces and plate material. Review pieces to verify if shapes are rings, rectangles or templates. Seek best possible yield and layout to maximize the use of the plate avoiding waste. Select correct Burning tip for thickness of plate and make sure the tip is clean. Use multi-torch burns whenever possible. Verify your square and then square your torches to the plate. Select the correct program to Burn when part is a template. If the part is a standard shape: program as a ring, rectangle or computer shape. Maintain the machine and notify management of any needed repairs. Measure thickness of the plate and verify plate grade before burning any parts. Initial beside "Grade/Thickness".
