CNC Blanking Operator

About the position

The CNC Blanking Operator at JTEKT North America is responsible for interpreting process prints, operation sheets, and standard work instructions to operate CNC Tsugami and Citizen machines to produce precision parts according to customer specifications. The operator will closely monitor production, replace tooling, adjust programs, and make machine adjustments to ensure tolerances are maintained. The role requires active participation in the 5S system, ensuring safety, quality, and continuous improvement in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate and improve the 5S system addressing safety, housekeeping, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Interpret process prints, operation sheets, and standard work instructions to produce parts that meet customer specifications.
• Set-up and operate gauges to measure parts, ensuring parts are produced to customer specifications.
• Use Fanuc/Citizen controllers to recall stored dimensions on products.
• Monitor machine production and troubleshoot machine and tooling to fix problems with non-conforming products.
• Make decisions about quality problems using reaction plans.
• Make necessary machine adjustments and replace tooling to ensure tolerances are held.
• Perform appropriate preventative maintenance on machines as required.
• Use and understand statistical process control (SPC).
• Operate 4 CNC Lathes daily.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous mechanical experience is required.
• Ability to read blueprints is required.
• Must possess very good mechanical/reasoning skills to problem solve.
• Must have good math skills in dealing with decimals and fractions.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively and efficiently.
• Must be multi-tasked to handle multiple diverse tasks accurately and completely.
• Must be a self-starter that can work with minimal supervision.
• Must have demonstrated good initiative in previous jobs.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours and/or be called in at odd hours when needed.
• Must be willing to work overtime on a consistent basis due to customer demand.

• Previous CNC experience is preferred.
