About The Position

Owens Corning is seeking a CNC Bandsaw Operator to join our team in Stokesdale, NC. The operator will be responsible for operating the CNC bandsaw to cut MDF sheets, wood sheets, and other materials into blank boards while maintaining acceptable safety, production, and quality levels. The role involves troubleshooting, quality checks, and routine maintenance of the bandsaw, as well as collaboration with engineers on research and development efforts.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Good hand-eye coordination and mechanically adaptable to using hand tools.
• Basic understanding of how to operate a computer.
• Willing to learn.
• Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Self-motivated and capable of working with limited supervision while following verbal and written instructions.
• Able to read a tape measure and calipers.
• Maintain good housekeeping and follow all 5S processes.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Trained in lockout/tag out.

Nice To Haves

• Preferably one year experience in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Operate the CNC bandsaw to cut MDF sheets, wood sheets, and other materials into blank boards.
• Maintain acceptable safety, production, and quality levels.
• Pull up specs on the CNC bandsaw to run product.
• Develop a basic understanding of the CNC bandsaw to effectively perform troubleshooting tasks.
• Observe and grade blanks coming out of the CNC bandsaw.
• Complete quality checks frequently throughout the shift.
• Determine when the blades need to be changed.
• Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
• Perform routine maintenance on the bandsaw.
• Spot potential safety hazards and report them to the lead and/or supervisor.
• Participate in the safety suggestion program.
• Input parameters into the CNC bandsaw HMI to create new specs.
• Assist maintenance with blade changes.
• Work alongside engineers on research and development efforts.
• Train others on the CNC bandsaw.
