About The Position

Are you ready to build a hands-on career in advanced manufacturing and earn while you learn? Launch your career with Busch Vacuum Solutions through our Registered CNC Machinist Apprenticeship Program based in Virginia Beach, VA. This full-time, paid apprenticeship combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction—all covered by Busch—as you work toward becoming a skilled CNC Machinist. Aligned with the Virginia Registered Apprenticeship Program and the U.S. Department of Labor, the program is designed to last approximately 2 to 2.5 years. As a Busch apprentice, you’ll join a dedicated team in our Tooling Operations Department, gaining practical experience in operating, programming, and maintaining precision CNC machinery. You’ll develop technical skills, earn industry-recognized credentials, and get paid every step of the way.

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Must place in entry-level college Math and English and enroll in the appropriate classes based on placement scores
Successful completion of the online Mechanical Aptitude Test (a 20-minute test assessing mechanical skills)
Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications and email
Willingness to travel domestically for training
Strong eagerness to learn, reliability, and a solid work ethic
Ability to work well in a team environment
Must be able to pass a 10-panel drug screen and a 7-year criminal background check
Ability to wear and use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment around machinery, noise, and airborne particles
Must be able to see and hear safety alerts and wear required PPE

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment is preferred
Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and specifications is preferred

Responsibilities

Train in the setup and operation of CNC machinery including lathes and mills
Learn to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Gain experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection tools
Understand basic programming (G&M code) and tool setup
Work alongside experienced machinists and engineers in a team environment
Attend and participate in required classroom instruction as part of your workweek
