Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements: 1 R Mre Years In Hme Care
  • Minimum Requirements: Valid listing on the N.C. and/or S. C. Nurse Aide I Registry
  • Minimum Requirements: Clinical Equipment, I.E. Oxygen, Suction Machines, Etc
  • Minimum Requirements: Hospice Orientation
  • Minimum Requirements: Valid Nc Or Sc Driver’S License
  • Empathetic Attitude Maturity & Ability To Deal W/ Job Demands Good Listening Skills
  • Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Program.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care in accordance with state regulated competencies depending on level of certification (I or II)
  • Provides safe, efficient and high quality personal care services to assigned residents under the supervision and guidance of a registered nurse, and in accordance with Hospice policies.
  • Adheres to written and oral instructions for patient care as prepared by the Nurse.
  • Assists the patient with all aspects of personal care, ambulation and positioning as required.
  • Prepares meals and assists with feeding as requested.
  • Performs housekeeping services that are necessary for the health and safety of the patient/family/caregiver.
  • Provides guidance to the family/caregiver regarding personal care of the patient.
  • Attends and participates in weekly team meetings, facility morning report, inservices, department, and agency meetings and other related activities.
  • Understands and adheres to the Facility’s Mission and policies and procedures, and advocates its philosophy.
  • Follows the guidelines for universal precautions when providing patient care.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and working relationship with staff members and others.
  • Maintains records of services performed and of apparent condition of patient, using documentation guidelines and standards set forth by the Facility.
  • Answers telephone within three rings, identifies department and self, directs call to appropriate person or assists caller.
  • Answers patient’s call bell within three rings.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of patient/family/caregiver information.
  • Provides for a safe environment for patients, guests, visitors and employees.
  • Adheres to all policies, procedures and regulations regarding patient care, conduct, safety, fire, security and risk management.
