About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate CNA's to join our blended-care healthcare team, which consists of RNs, LPNs, and Nurse Externs. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to a diverse patient population in our fast-paced surgical unit. First Surgical is a 27-bed general surgical unit that cares for a variety of specialty surgical patients, as well as medical patients and those requiring wound care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Current Nursing Assistant Level I certification
  • AHA CPR Required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and move patients as necessary
  • Demonstrated compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to help others

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is an asset but not required; new graduates are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living ( ADLs). including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
  • Help patients with mobility by aiding with walking, turning, repositioning, and transferring between beds, chairs, and wheelchairs.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, and report any abnormalities to the nurse.
  • Support nursing staff in providing basic medical care, such as changing wound dressings and assisting with medical equipment.
  • Observe patients for changes in condition or behavior and report any concerns promptly to the nursing staff.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all care provided in accordance with facility policies.
  • Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients as directed.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Uphold patient rights, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapist, and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Comply with infection control protocols and all relevant health and safety regulations.
