About The Position
Aspen Private Duty Nursing is seeking a compassionate and experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide 1:1 in-home care for a patient diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis in Irving, Texas. This role is ideal for CNAs who value individualized, relationship-based care and have experience supporting patients with neurological or medically complex conditions .
Requirements
- Active Texas Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Ability to follow care plans and work under nurse supervision
- Strong observation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a home setting
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred
Nice To Haves
- Experience with ALS, neurological, or medically complex patients preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility
- Assist with repositioning and transfers to ensure comfort and prevent skin breakdown
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to supervising nurse
- Support respiratory care needs (as trained), including observing breathing patterns and assisting with equipment
- Assist with feeding and hydration as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment
- Provide emotional support while preserving patient dignity and comfort
- Accurately document care provided
