About The Position

Basic Function: Responsible for performing nursing procedures and patient care tasks. Responsible for assisting residents/patients with activities of daily living. Position Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be at least 17 years of age. Requires basic understanding of specialized area of knowledge normally acquired through four years of high school plus the successful completion of Nursing Assistant course or equivalent. Ability to understand and carry out moderately complex oral and written instructions. Holds current Texas licensure as a Certified Nurse Aide. Completes and/or meets training, certification required by Texhoma and Texas Department of Aging and Disability. Ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people. Work deals mostly with areas such as client records, medical records, visual inspection involving small details. Visual work is primarily close to observer. Depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are not as critical as the ability to distinguish small details and markings very near to the observer. Color perception for some tasks (e.g., dispensing meds, assessment of resident condition) is important. Position requires bending, stooping, twisting, turning, reaching, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, climbing, kneeling, walking and standing over 75% of shift. Ability to recognize differences in sound, such as voices/noises that are loud and playful instead of angry and combative. Ability to exercise independent judgment under broad certified nursing care guidelines. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public. Ability to meet emotional and physical demands of clients (and to help insure their dignity) and staff on the unit. Commitment to Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally. Sufficient good health to properly discharge duties. Ability to comply with Resident/Patient rights, all state/federal regulatory requirements, and all company policies and procedures. Ability to attend general orientation session and attend department orientation. Submit to TB Tine Test and return as instructed to read results or provide results of current TB Tine Test in the last 12 months. Must be employable by the Texas Nurse Aide Registry (NAR) – cannot be listed on the NAR as revoked; and cannot be considered unemployable by the Employee Misconduct Registry (EMR). Cannot be convicted of a criminal offense listed in the Texas Health and Safety Code (THSC), §250.006(a), or convicted of a criminal offense listed in THSC, §250.006(b) within the five years immediately before your application date.
