The CNA assists patients in performing daily activities and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as directed by a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse. This role involves performing basic patient care within the scope of practice, maintaining an orderly environment according to hospital policies, and assisting with and training residents and families in ADLs such as bathing, grooming, nail and skin care, oral hygiene, toileting, elimination, and ensuring adequate nutritional intake. The CNA also utilizes infection control measures, documents observations, activities, and services accurately and timely, and accesses personal health information as needed for duties.
