About The Position
The CNA assists patients in performing daily activities and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as directed by a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse. This role involves performing basic patient care within the scope of practice, maintaining an orderly environment according to hospital policies, and assisting with and training residents and families in ADLs such as bathing, grooming, nail and skin care, oral hygiene, toileting, elimination, and ensuring adequate nutritional intake. The CNA also utilizes infection control measures, documents observations, activities, and services accurately and timely, and accesses personal health information as needed for duties.
Requirements
- Must have a High Scholl Diploma or GED
- Must be Certified for one year through the state of Texas HHSC
- Ability to read, write and carry out instructions.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist patient’s in performing daily activities and ADL 's per the plan of care and as directed by the Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.
- Perform basic patient care within their scope of practice.
- Maintain an orderly environment in accordance with with hospital policies and procedures.
- Assists perform and trains residents and family in activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, nail and skin care, oral hygiene, toileting, and elimination and adequate nutritional intake.
- Utilizes infection control measures such as hand washing, and personal protective equipment.
- Document observations, activities, and services provided in an accurate, complete, and timely manner.
- Accesses personal health information necessary to fill the above duties and responsibilities.
