WHAT YOU’LL DO As a CNA at Lutheran Life Villages, you'll provide hands-on, personal care to residents under the guidance of licensed nursing staff. Your care, attentiveness, and support will help residents maintain their health, independence, and dignity.

Requirements

  • Completion of the 105-hour Indiana Nurse Aide Training Program or equivalent.
  • Active CNA certification in good standing with the Indiana Nurse Aide Registry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and elderly care needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and professionalism - even in challenging situations.
  • Basic computer proficiency for electronic documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous long-term care or senior living experience preferred, but new grads are welcome

Responsibilities

  • Provide Personal Care Assist with bathing (bed, tub, shower), grooming, oral hygiene, skin care, and hair/nail maintenance.
  • Support toileting needs, including incontinence care, perineal care, and emptying drainage bags.
  • Serve meals and assist with feeding as needed.
  • Monitor and record food and fluid intake/output.
  • Ensure residents have access to fresh water regularly.
  • Change bed linens and maintain clean, organized resident spaces.
  • Assist with dressing and undressing.
  • Perform range of motion exercises and help residents ambulate or use mobility devices.
  • Answer call lights promptly and observe for changes in resident health.
  • Accurately document care provided and complete shift-to-shift bed checks.
  • Report unusual signs, symptoms, or incidents to nursing staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and equipment.
  • Support restorative and preventative care procedures.
  • Assist fellow team members and participate in one-on-one activities with residents.
