About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Mountainside Residential Care Center is responsible for providing routine daily nursing care and services to residents in accordance with their care plans and under the direction of supervisors. This per diem position requires flexibility in hours and shifts, ensuring that residents receive compassionate and quality care in a supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in New York State.
  • GED or High School Diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care to residents per the care plan and all assigned tasks as instructed.
  • Report all changes in a resident's condition to the LPN/RN as soon as possible.
  • Complete work timely and follow all policies and procedures applicable to MRCC.
  • Document all actions before leaving shift and give report to immediate supervisor prior to leaving unit.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis throughout the unit and shift.
  • Cooperate with inter-departmental personnel and keep working areas and resident rooms clean and clutter-free.
  • Ensure accuracy of care plan and kardex and notify LPN/RN when changes are required.
  • Effectively communicate the plan of care and ensure that resident care plan is followed.
  • Ensure appropriate and ongoing communication to the resident, family, staff, MD, IDT, etc.
  • Promote an environment of learning and attend mandatory inservices and continuing education requirements.
  • Use equipment appropriately after training and strive to enhance the resident and staff experience.
  • Follow MRCC policies and procedures, including HIPAA, and report unusual problems regarding resident care to RN/House Supervisor.
  • Comply with safety and infection control standards and report potential outbreaks.
