About The Position

The position involves performing non-direct care resident activities and services under the direction of the Supervisor. The role is essential in maintaining a clean and organized environment for residents and assisting them with various needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of resident rights and support for privacy, dignity, and well-being of residents.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and safety procedures, including universal precautions.
  • Adherence to confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and quality assurance requirements.
  • Ability to cooperate and work together with co-workers with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of age-specific developmental factors for adult and geriatric residents.
  • Ability to maintain current practice standards through educational opportunities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a nursing assistant in long-term care preferred.
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to operate medical and office equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Wash and clean beds and wheelchairs.
  • Make resident beds.
  • Escort residents in wheelchairs to the dining room.
  • Assist with feeding residents upon completion of feeding course certification.
  • Pass ice to residents per protocol.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and organized work environment.
  • Protect the personal belongings of each resident and report missing items to Supervisor.
  • Answer resident call lights promptly and courteously.
  • Assist with orienting residents and their families to the nursing home upon admission.
  • Observe and report changes in resident conditions to Supervisor.
  • Escort residents to beauty shop appointments, activities, church services, etc.
  • Participate in activities and functions as directed.
  • Stock supplies such as depends and wipes.
