About The Position

The CNA - Sub Acute Care position at Coronado Hospital involves collaborating with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to deliver quality patient/resident care under the direction of a licensed nurse. The role requires delivering care with consideration to age-specific needs and contributing to overall unit functions. The position is part-time, with evening shifts from 3 PM to 11:30 PM, and includes weekend requirements every other week.

Requirements

  • Completion of an approved nursing assistant course.
  • California Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification - CA Department of Public Health - REQUIRED.
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 Year Recent experience in a geriatric setting or an acute care hospital.
  • Current certification as Nursing Assistant for long-term care and skilled nursing required, rehab preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) in the delivery of quality patient/resident care under the direction of a licensed nurse.
  • Delivers care with consideration to age-specific needs.
  • Contributes to overall unit functions.
  • Ensures complete room set up for new admissions.
  • Meets and greets new patients/residents and family members on admission to the unit.
  • Orients patient/resident and family to the facility/room.
  • Inventories and documents patient's personal belongings upon admission and updates as needed.
  • Transfers/transports patients to activities, therapies, and other departments safely and on time.
  • Ensures room preparation set-up for next admission.
  • Checks and cleans equipment and materials as appropriate according to Infection Control Policy.
  • Completes delegated tasks within scope of practice.
  • Documents daily care of patients per unit standards.
  • Communicates changes in patients/residents' conditions.
  • Reports personal injury within two hours after the incident.
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritize workload in accordance with patient's needs.
