About The Position

The position is for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Villa Coronado, specifically for night shifts from 11 PM to 7:30 AM. Requirements

  • Completion of an approved nursing assistant course.
  • California Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) - CA Department of Public Health - REQUIRED.
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 Year Recent experience in geriatric setting or an acute care hospital.
  • Current certification as Nursing Assistant for long-term care and skilled nursing required, rehab preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) in the delivery of quality patient/resident care under the direction of a licensed nurse.
  • Delivers care with consideration to age specific needs/care.
  • Contributes to overall unit functions.
  • Ensures complete room set up for new admission.
  • Meets and greets new patient/resident and family members on admission to unit.
  • Orients patient/resident and family to the facility/room.
  • Inventories and documents patient's personal belongings on inventory sheet upon admission and updates as needed.
  • Transfers/transports patient to activities, therapies and other departments on time and in a safe manner.
  • Ensures room preparation set-up for next admission.
  • Checks, cleans equipment, materials as appropriate as indicated by Infection Control Policy.
  • Provides patient with appropriate assistive device/s as needed.
  • Completes delegated tasks within scope of practice.
  • Participates and implements in the completion of plan of care to meet established goals as delegated.
  • Documents daily care of patient per unit standards.
  • Communicates changes in patients/residents condition.
  • Takes rapid action in life threatening situations and immediately notifies the licensed nurse.
  • Complies with universal precautions and hospital infection control policies.
