About The Position

The CNA position at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center involves collaborating with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to deliver quality patient/resident care under the direction of a licensed nurse. Requirements

• Completion of an approved nursing assistant course.
• California Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification required.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional certification required.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of recent experience in a geriatric setting or an acute care hospital.
• Current certification as Nursing Assistant for long-term care and skilled nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) in the delivery of quality patient/resident care under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Delivers care with consideration to age-specific needs.
• Contributes to overall unit functions.
• Ensures complete room setup for new admissions.
• Meets and greets new patients/residents and family members on admission to the unit.
• Orients patients/residents and families to the facility/room.
• Inventories and documents patient's personal belongings upon admission.
• Transfers/transports patients to activities, therapies, and other departments safely.
• Checks and cleans equipment and materials as appropriate.
• Completes delegated tasks within scope of practice.
• Documents daily care of patients per unit standards.
• Communicates changes in patients/residents' conditions.
• Reports personal injury within two hours after the incident.
