About The Position
The unit provides care for post-acute rehab patients, with nurse-patient ratios varying by shift and population. The facility specializes in neuro rehab, traumatic brain injuries, amputations, heart failure, spinal cord injuries, and joint replacements. It is specifically designed for patient needs to promote peaceful recovery. The Rehab and Nursing Center – Leffingwell offers 80 private rooms, each with an accessible bathroom, comfortable seating for guests, a large screen TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, and nature views. A dedicated interdisciplinary team, including physical, occupational, recreation, and speech therapists, provides customized therapy programs using the latest technology to maximize independence and mobility. Amenities include a 5,500 sq ft gym, private dining area, three courtyards, a beauty salon, and four common lounge areas with activity rooms.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of State of Michigan approved CNA Training Course
- CRT-Nursing Assistant - Michigan Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Community and Health Systems within 90 days
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days
Responsibilities
- Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality, direct patient care.
- Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team.
- Provides direct patient care under the direction of the Unit Manager or Licensed Nurse, consistent with policies and procedures of the unit.
- Responsible for direct day-to-day care of assigned residents/patients including dressing, bathing, transporting and feeding.
- Documents care provided as directed in a manner consistent with guidelines.
