About The Position

Job Description Summary/Objective To provide support to participants with activities of daily living and socialization programming in a person centered respite and enrichment center. Essential Functions Direct Care: Assisting members with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming; monitoring and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse rate, and temperature. Helping members with mobility and transferring. Providing meals and ensuring that they are well-nourished. Being compassionate, patient, and empathetic. Customer Service: Interface directly with the public to include participants, caregivers, community partners, licensing, and co-workers in a professional manner; providing emotional support to participants and their families. Facilities Management: Clean and maintain space and equipment to ensure a well-organized and sanitary environment. Report issues to supervisor which require additional support. Socialization and Recreation: Plan, provide and/or lead activities on an individual or group basis to encourage participant engagement. Understand each participants person-centered care plan to optimize engagement. Reporting: Assist with the collection of data as directed by supervisor or other lead staff. Manage records as directed; maintain documentation such as vitals, caregiver contacts, check in and out activities, etc Maintaining Confidentiality: Prevent the unnecessary or accidental sharing of confidential and personal information by securing paperwork appropriately, limiting discussions in open areas, being aware of surroundings, and understanding confidentiality policies. Professional Development: Complete12 hours of professional development/training annually. Maintaining CNA or PCA and Med Tech certifications at all times. Telework is not permitted with this position due to the hands on nature of the responsibilities. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee is regularly required to participate in online and in person meetings and communicate effectively with team members, peers, and community partners. Employee communicates frequently with the public many of whom may be experiencing issues with vision, hearing, dementia or other disabilities. Employee uses a computer for data entry and other functions of the position. Employee expected to maintain physical records This role is a moderately active role. The employee routinely engages in long periods of consistent mobility in order to distribute meals, activities, etc. Employee also performs activities of daily living such as bathing and toileting for multiple participants multiple times per day. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, primarily working Monday – Friday. Travel Travel is limited and not a routine part of this position. Requirements
