The CNA/Nursing Assistant position at Advocate Health involves providing essential support to registered nurses in the daily care of patients. This role is available in both full-time and part-time capacities, with various shift options primarily on the 3rd shift. The position is located at Aurora Medical Center Summit in Oconomowoc, WI. The job includes responsibilities such as assisting with patient hygiene, measuring vital signs, documenting patient data, and participating in the admission and discharge processes. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to perform various tasks related to patient care and safety.

  • Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation.
  • Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs, I & O, daily weights, and other patient data as requested.
  • Performs purposeful rounding under direction of RN and communicates observations, concerns, and needs of patient/family.
  • Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN.
  • Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing.
  • Completes various errands as directed including pick-up and delivery of trays, charts, specimens, and reports.
  • Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties.
  • Maintains skin integrity and ensures special patient supplies are provided.
  • May be required to remove IVs, provide post mortem care, and bladder scans under the direction of RN.
  • Practices within policies and procedures of infection prevention.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days.
  • Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry.
  • Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), or High School Graduate.
  • Basic computer skills.
