About The Position
CNA - Long Term Care at Providence Child Center in Portland, Oregon. This posting represents a full time day shift position. Hours are 7am-7:30pm (3, 12 hour shifts), with rotating weekends and holidays. Our Long-Term Care unit within the Child Center has a total of 46 beds, serving both pediatric and adult patients. Each CNA cares for approximately 7 residents on day shift, and 11 on nights. We care for a unique and diverse population of medically fragile individuals, ranging from children with complex developmental and neurological conditions to adults with chronic illnesses and disabilities. Some of our residents require long-term ventilator support, tracheostomy care, and all require some assistance with activities of daily living. Our unit is known for its exceptional continuity of care, with many caregivers having long tenures and deep relationships with our residents and families. We're also proud of our interdisciplinary approach, working closely with respiratory therapy, rehab, and social work to provide holistic care. The CNA 2 performs basic nursing tasks while providing quality care to children and assists them in the activities of daily living under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse (RN or LPN). Requirements
- Coursework/Training: Completion of Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) recognized Acute Care CNA 2 course or Grandfathered to CNA 2 per OSBN requirements.
- Oregon Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
- In compliance with the Department of Human Services (DHS), a criminal background check is required for this position.
