About The Position

The CNA - Inpatient Mental Health position is a part-time role located in Carroll, IA, focusing on providing essential care to patients in a mental health setting. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Successful completion of nursing assistant course or equivalent.
  • Passed competency and skills tests for state registry.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to create a caring relationship with patients and families.
  • Dependability and punctuality.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides for patient's personal hygiene and daily living.
  • Assists with meals and feeds patients.
  • Ambulates, turns, and positions patients.
  • Administers enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, and applies restraints.
  • Checks vital signs and weight; performs sugar and acetone urine testing.
  • Communicates with and keeps professional nurse informed on unit activities.
  • Records patient information regarding Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
  • Maintains good working relations with nursing unit staff.
  • Instills confidence in patients by maintaining a neat appearance.
  • Completes all CEUs as required by respective licensure.
  • Participates in performance improvement and educational activities.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient, resident, employee, and organizational information.
