About The Position

Requirements

• High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
• Completion of a 75-hour nurse assistant course is required.
• Required to be registered as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and registered in the applicable state's Department of Health.
• Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Performs tasks as delegated and indicated on the care plan for assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• The Nursing Assistant (NA) will understand the basic elements of body functioning.
• Understands the physical and emotional changes including those which occur in the death and dying process.
• Delivers age appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the patient per care plan.
• Assists patients in daily living activities such as dressing and undressing, bathing and eating.
• Must know medical terminology, organizational policies and procedures.
• Requires ability to do detailed work correctly, function under and handle stress.
• Must be able to work with growth and development needs of all client and patient population.
