About The Position
We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic CNA to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential one-on-one care to individuals in the comfort of their own homes, helping them maintain their independence. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys the company of, and caring for others. Must be able to communicate effectively and have some experience working with dementia. Interim HealthCare values its caregivers and works collaboratively to ensure a match between caregivers and clients, making a meaningful difference in the lives of others through personalized, home-based care.
Requirements
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- CNA Certification
- CPR certification
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and transportation
- Compassionate and helping nature, good communicator and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Some experience working with dementia
Nice To Haves
- Six (6) months of experience in a healthcare role
Responsibilities
- Provide the personal care and support seniors need to live safely at home
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, transportation and companionship
- Help with ambulation, transferring and range of motion exercises
- Provide medication reminders, document their condition and notify a supervisor of any concerns
- Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways
- Participate in activities that bring clients joy such as puzzles, games, reading and hobbies
