About The Position

VCU Health at Home by BAYADA Hospice is seeking an experienced Certified Nurses Aide (CNA) for a full-time opportunity to conduct home care hospice visits for clients across Richmond, VA. This is a visiting position, requiring reliable transportation. As a CNA, you will be a crucial part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team, delivering personal, skilled nursing, and palliative care to clients, enabling them to receive necessary medical care in their homes.

Requirements

• Have at least one year of work experience as a CNA
• Have successfully completed a recognized CNA training course and be certified to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of VA
• Demonstrate an ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English
• Pass the BAYADA Competency Evaluation Examination
• Have a criminal background check completed
• Meet all state requirements
• Reliable transportation is required

Responsibilities

• Activities of daily living
• Light housekeeping
• Bathing
• Grooming
• Toileting
• Nail care
• Range of motion / exercises
• Transfers / use of mechanical lifting devices
• Oral feeding
• Vital sign checks: temperature, pulse, respiration
• Home Management Tasks: laundry, meal preparation, bed making etc.
• Assisting with ambulation
• Medication assistance
