About The Position

At Senior Home Companions, we’re on a mission to provide compassionate, one-on-one care that transforms lives in Florida through various healthcare settings; including the clients' homes, hospitals, assisted living facilities, and teaching hospitals. This role is critical in delivering high-quality patient care, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring the comfort and safety of patients.

Requirements

Experience in a hospital or assisted living setting is a plus
Knowledge of infectious disease care practices
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as critical care units
Strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Must be able to speak, read and write English
Physical ability to lift patients and perform tasks that require standing for extended periods
Commitment to providing compassionate care and maintaining patient dignity
Driver's license is a must, professional liability insurance is preferred
Must be able to pass a level 2 background
Someone who is experienced in the field and with Alzheimer's/Dementia and holds a CNA and/or HHA license.
A genuine love for spending time with seniors and making them smile and a commitment to maintaining patient dignity.
Ability to assist with personal care, daily living activities, companionship, and other client needs.
Employment is contingent upon completion of a Level 2 background screening in accordance with Florida AHCA requirements. Responsibilities

Providing non-medical personal care, including bathing, grooming, and toileting.
Assisting with daily living activities like light housekeeping and meal prep.
Offering companionship and engaging our clients in activities they love
Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
Provide support in critical care environments, including ICU and medical-surgical units
Must be able to assist clients with transfers
Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by following infection control protocols
Assist nursing staff with medical procedures and treatments as directed
Document patient information accurately in electronic health record systems
Participate in patient education by teaching basic health concepts and care instructions
