This position is for a CNA/Health Unit Coordinator in the Endoscopy Unit, responsible for assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) with the daily care of patients. Key duties include patient bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders, ambulation, and proper positioning. The role involves measuring and documenting vital signs, intake/output, and daily weights in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The coordinator participates in patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes, ensures patient safety and comfort, and communicates patient needs to the RN. Additionally, the role includes performing patient positioning and transporting, assisting with nutritional needs, maintaining skin integrity, and managing special patient supplies. The position also involves collecting specimens, performing point-of-care testing, and adhering to infection prevention policies. As a Health Unit Coordinator, responsibilities extend to coordinating tests and treatments between departments, maintaining knowledge of EHR and other computer systems for ordering supplies and processing charges, facilitating patient care communications, managing office equipment, and compiling medical record forms. The role requires establishing positive customer relations and demonstrating knowledge and skills for age-appropriate patient care.
