About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Holiday Resort provides essential direct and indirect care to residents under the supervision of licensed nurses. This role is crucial in ensuring the well-being and comfort of residents, assisting them with daily activities, and maintaining a safe and respectful environment.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid CNA certification in good standing with the State.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a long-term care facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with the Facility's personnel, safety and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Report allegations of resident abuse, neglect, exploitation, and social media violations immediately to the Administrator or supervisor.
  • Treat residents, family members, visitors, and team members with dignity and respect.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident and family information.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and other departments.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Attend mandatory trainings and meetings.
  • Report any complaints/grievances made by residents to the Grievance Officer or per policy.
  • Assist in admission and discharge of residents.
  • Assist residents in daily oral care, bathing, and overall grooming.
  • Keep residents dry by changing clothing and linen when soiled or wet.
  • Make beds and change linens as needed and scheduled.
  • Assist residents in bowel and bladder functions.
  • Collect specimens (urine, sputum, stools, etc.).
  • Assist residents in preparing for activities and social programs.
  • Transport residents to/from meals, appointments, and activities.
  • Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents.
  • Assist residents in ambulation and mobility using proper gait belts.
  • Perform and document vital signs and measurements (blood pressure, oxygen, temperature, pulse, respirations, weight, height).
  • Answer resident call lights promptly.
  • Report and document any changes in a resident's condition or behavior to the Charge Nurse.
  • Prepare residents for meals, serve and remove trays, and assist in feeding and providing fluids as required.
  • Distribute ice, drinking water, and other fluids to residents.
  • Assist in the care of dying residents and provide post-mortem care.
  • Check assigned residents routinely to ensure personal care needs are met.
  • Organize and straighten resident rooms daily and as needed.
  • Bag soiled linens and trash appropriately.
  • Complete required documentation of care and services provided.
  • Give report to oncoming shift per facility policy.
  • May not leave assigned shift until supervisor releases you.
