As a CNA Float Pool at MercyOne, you will be a member of MercyOne Clinton Medical Center's healthcare team and is under the direct supervision of a registered professional nurse. The nurse assistant provides quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care by assisting the patient with activities of daily living, as well as other physical, emotional and spiritual needs. The nurse assistant provides care consistent with the mission of MercyOne Clinton, vision of patient care services, evidence-based standard of care and established policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Certified Nurse Aide, verification of certification from the State of Iowa.
  • Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a related field preferred.
  • Ability to work concurrently on a variant of tasks in a stressful environment.
  • Comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
  • Possess a personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity, and caring.

Nice To Haves

  • High school education or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the patient with activities of daily living.
  • Provide physical, emotional and spiritual care to the patient population.
  • Record and report information such as vital signs, intake and output, weight, and any behavioral changes.
  • Collect specimens and perform diagnostic procedures as directed.
  • Provide care and prevention necessary to keep patient safe.
  • Demonstrate a caring practice by respecting the rights of an individual or group.
