As a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), you will be a cornerstone of patient care, directly contributing to comfort, safety, and recovery by providing essential support under RN direction. Requirements

  • Technical School Completed all accredited education requirements and 6 months clinical experience in an acute facility
  • Vocational School Grad Completed all accredited education requirements
  • Certified Nursing Assistant: NV
  • Basic Life Support - CPR
  • Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Collects data related to health status by collecting, reporting and recording basic objective and subjective data.
  • Observes for change in health status and signs and symptoms or deviations from normal health status.
  • Provides basic information which licensed nurses use in making lists of patient problems and needs.
  • Provides basic information regarding the patient which assists the licensed nurse in setting goals.
  • Contributes to the development and revision of the plan of care by providing basic information regarding the patient which assists the licensed nurse in the development and revision of the plan of care.
  • Implementation of Patient Care Procedures: Occupied and unoccupied bed making. Skin care, including bath, perineal care and shaving. Mouth care, including brushing, flossing and denture care. Hair care. Dressing and undressing. Apply elastic stockings. Feed patients. Apply warm and cold therapies.
  • Obtains vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure.
  • Pulse oximetry.
  • Apply EKG monitor leads.
  • May perform 12 lead EKG if validated competent to do so.
  • Patient height and weight.
  • Measure and record intake and output.
  • Assists patients with exercise and activity.
  • Position patients and change position regularly, using lifting and moving devices appropriately.
  • Performs active and passive range of motion.
  • Assist patients with elimination needs.
  • Observes Legal 2000 patients awaiting discharge.
