About the position

The CNA/Caregiver position at Seacrest Village involves providing direct personal care to residents, promoting their well-being and satisfaction through support with activities of daily living. The role requires effective communication with other departments to ensure that resident needs are met. The position is full-time with a PM shift, located at the Corporate Encinitas facility in Encinitas, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the well-being of residents exceeds expectations and that care meets state requirements and the standards of quality set by Seacrest Village.

Responsibilities

  • Provides assistance as required for activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Records care given daily.
  • Follows policy/procedure for administration of medication.
  • Assesses and responds to resident and staff medical emergencies following protocol & basic first aid training.
  • Assists with meal service and monitors resident food intake.
  • Encourages and monitors resident participation in social activities.
  • Reports changes in resident behavior, mental and physical condition to the Assisted Living Director.
  • Maintains confidentiality and respect for resident's privacy.
  • Assists with the training and orientation of new staff.
  • Documents care of resident in current EMR system/program.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate from an accredited school for certified nursing assistants preferred.
  • CNA with six months of experience preferred or caregiver with a minimum of one year of experience in geriatric care.
  • First Aid Course/certificate.
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in English.
  • General knowledge of oxygen tanks and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret written procedures and directions.
  • Knowledge of proper transfer techniques.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical/TB test.
  • Obtain fingerprint clearance as required by licensure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Medical terminology knowledge.
  • Experience in Wellness Center, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Home Health/Home Care.
