Requirements

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education.
  • Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with laws of the state.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and professional journals.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan.
  • Use wristband or photo card file to identify residents before administering treatments, serving meals, etc.
  • Report all changes in the resident’s condition to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
  • Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc., in an informative, descriptive manner.
  • Report all accidents and incidents observed during the shift.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident’s protected health information.
  • Ensure that the resident’s room is ready for receiving the resident.
  • Greet residents and escort them to their room.
  • Assist residents with packing their personal possessions when being transferred or discharged.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth and personal interest.
  • Measure and record temperatures, pulses, and respirations of residents.
  • Assist residents with daily functions such as dental care, bathing, dressing, etc.
  • Observe and report the presence of pressure areas and skin breakdowns.
  • Honor the resident’s refusal of treatment request.
