About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) 1 position at Providence Seaside Hospital is a .9 FTE, night shift role requiring three 12-hour shifts per week from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with rotating weekends. The CNA provides non-professional direct patient care under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse (RN), utilizing the care plan. This role is essential in contributing to a high-functioning team and meaningfully advancing the post-operative recovery of surgical patients. Responsibilities include assisting RNs with admissions, discharges, and transfers, measuring and recording vital signs, collecting specimens, and assisting with client mobility and transfers using safe patient handling devices. The position also offers opportunities for continuing education and professional development, including an annual CNA conference.

Requirements

• Completion of certification course for Nursing Assistants
• Upon hire: Oregon Nursing Assistant Certification License
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a high functioning team

• Collect specimens and perform fingerstick capillary blood tests
• Assist with client mobility and transfers, using lifts and safe patient handling devices
