Requirements

  • High School or GED required, associate's degree preferred, No Bachelors required.
  • 10-year minimum experience required.
  • Basic awareness of problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to accomplish work within required timelines, including short, long, and emergency timeframes.
  • A bility to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • E xcellent communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • M ust be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Able to work under pressure and multitask.
  • Familiarity with construction practices and materials testing
  • valid drivers license upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • preferred certifications including ICC (multiple categories), ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I, Radiation Safety/Nuclear Density Gauge, ODOT/WAQTC, CWI, NACE, and other materials-related certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field materials testing on soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete and other construction materials in accordance with training and the specified procedures.
  • Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
  • Perform occasional laboratory tests on soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete when required to support project objectives.
  • Read and interpret construction specifications and drawings, and follow operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Prepare timely and accurate reports and documentation of field activities and testing results.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and timeliness of results required.
  • Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of test data.
  • Clean, calibrate, maintain, and store testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Maintains equipment in good working order and adheres to related calibration and storage.
  • Completes other tasks as assigned.
