About The Position

NOVA Engineering is seeking a full-time CMT Engineering Technician for our Construction Materials Testing department in the Fort Lauderdale, FL metropolitan statistical area (MSA). The individual will be responsible for field testing and inspections of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry mortar/grout for compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and/or project specifications. Responsibilities include reviewing blueprints in preparation of field observations on construction sites, preparing detailed and accurate reports of findings, and communicating results to project managers and clients. Daily use of Metafield for recording of testing results is required, along with communication of field testing results with Construction Services staff, general contractors, and clients. The position involves travel to job sites across the Miami-Fort Lauderdale metropolitan area.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in the Construction Materials Testing industry.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Certification (Level 1) is required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work and maneuver equipment (such as a loaded wheelbarrow) on uneven ground and around active construction sites.
• Willingness to travel out-of-town (typically overnight) for short duration assignments.

Nice To Haves

• Certifications from the following entities are highly desirable: American Concrete Institute (ACI), Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), International Code Council (ICC), NICET, or Post-tensioning Institute (PTI).

Responsibilities
