About The Position

As a systems engineer for Combat Mission Support System (CMSS), you’ll be a key member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing, integrating, and sustaining advanced SATCOM and Electronic Warfare capabilities to ensure mission success in dynamic and contested environments. You will apply your expertise to support hardware/software integration, testing, and troubleshooting of complex systems while mentoring technical staff and driving innovative solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Agile experience preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience assembling, testing, or troubleshooting hardware in lab or project environments (for example: subsystem fabrication, power/thermal systems, or structural components)
  • Ability to work effectively on small engineering teams and contribute to design, analysis, and technical documentation efforts
  • Familiarity with data analysis or scripting tools such as R, MATLAB, or Python (basic)
  • Comfort working in fast‑paced or high‑pressure environments, supported by prior research and emergency‑department experience
  • Strong communication skills developed through technical writing, collaborative software platforms, customer‑facing roles, and research documentation
  • Experience using engineering tools such as SolidWorks, COMSOL, MATLAB, Arduino, or similar modeling and analysis software
  • Exposure to system‑level engineering through academic design projects, including satellite design, subsystem integration, or environmental testing work
  • Success leading the systems development life cycle with strong proficiency with requirements management and system modeling tools
  • Creative thinker motivated to apply technical standards and methodologies to develop solutions
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to provide technical leadership and position others for success
  • Strong presentation and communications skills with experience in the art of negotiation and the ability to meet challenging customer requirements with win-win solutions
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
