About The Position

This position serves in a support role for a grant-funded project which amplifies current Substance Use Disorder and Opioid Use Disorder prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts in the five-county area of Lake, Mecosta, Montcalm, Newaygo, and Osceola, in the building of a regional Recovery Ecosystem. This position reports directly to the Project Director and the Network Director. A grant-funded position, this temporary position is funded through June 30, 2027.

Requirements

  • Healthcare or Social work knowledge required.
  • Graduate or Professional program enrollment preferred, e.g., students enrolled in Pharmacy, Optometry, Master of Social Work, Master of Public Health, Master of Healthcare Administration, Master of Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice degree programs.
  • Healthcare knowledge, especially as related to Substance Use Disorder and/or Opioid Use Disorder
  • Basic computer skills, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Canva knowledge is desired
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership ability
  • Ability to set and meet project deadlines
  • Previous experience in a work-related environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves in a support role supporting the Network Director as needed to meet Work Plan strategies and actions.
  • Assist Network Director with meeting arrangements, filing, phone and contact management, serve as a liaison between the grant work and Ferris State University students.
  • Assist the Project Director (PD) with media marketing and technology aspects of the grant project, such as though not limited to arranging for and coordinating virtual conference meetings including recordings of the meetings, arranging, and organizing technology for education sessions, and assisting the media vendor with maintaining currency of the SUD/OUD service database available to the community-at-large in the service area.
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings with the CMREN Network Director and CMREN Core Team to be held twice monthly at a minimum.
  • Students will be provided assignments with directions, including a deadline for completion and the estimated number of hours required for completion.
  • Students will be required to use electronic time keeping to track hours worked and location.
