About The Position

The CMM Technician is responsible for performing detailed inspections of aluminum die cast samples at various stages of production and documenting related findings in a variety of ways. This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • 2+ Year degree in an engineering-related field.
  • 3 to 5 Years of experience as a CMM programmer/layout technician.
  • Previous experience as an internal auditor.
  • Skilled with CMM programming.
  • Computer-literate with Microsoft Office and applications such as CAD.
  • Effective using statistical analysis and sampling methods.
  • Able and willing to work on third shift when needed.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish (preferred).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledgeable with Zeiss (Calypso) and/or Brown & Sharpe (PC DMIS) CMMs.
  • Extremely attentive to detail.
  • Excellent at communication.
  • Able to work effectively individually and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed inspections of aluminum die castings.
  • Analyze geometric dimensions and tolerances from blueprints.
  • Accurately communicate inspection results to the engineering and production departments.
  • Operate measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, pin gages, indicators, special fixtures, x-ray machine, surface instruments, and others.
  • Interpret inspection results and reach conclusions to assure requirements are met.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining control plans, inspection records, and quality documentation.
