About The Position

The CMM Program Operator is responsible for performing precise in-process and final inspections of aeronautical components to ensure compliance with engineering type design and quality standards. This role applies specialized knowledge of GD&T, metrology, and automated CMM programming to support manufacturing quality, identify nonconformities, and drive corrective actions in a regulated aerospace environment. As a CMM Program Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and airworthiness of aeronautical products by performing in-process and final inspections in accordance with approved engineering type design. You will be responsible for the accurate execution, analysis, and documentation of inspection results, including the identification and reporting of any deviations. This role requires a high level of technical precision, attention to detail, and integrity. You will exercise sound judgment and work collaboratively with engineering and manufacturing teams to support production quality and continuous improvement. In addition, you will contribute to the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of metrology solutions used for manufacturing inspection.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a high school diploma or Associates degree with 4 years of experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Proficiency in the use of precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, and height gages
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately document and report inspection results

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in CAD or a related technical field
  • Experience creating, reading, and interpreting engineering drawings with GD&T requirements
  • Minimum of two years of experience in engineering design and/or manufacturing inspection within a regulated or precision manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute automated Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspection programs for aircraft components using CAD models and GD&T data
  • Apply advanced metrology techniques to support complex manufacturing inspections
  • Perform measurement system error analysis and nonconformance root cause evaluations
  • Develop and support corrective action plans to improve product quality and inspection accuracy
