As a member of the CAD/CAM team, you will be an active contributor to the factory volume ramp and standardization efforts. Job Description What you’ll do Generate, maintain, and verify CMM programs utilizing PC-DMIS or other software. Manipulate Models using NX 2206 as needed to support CMM programming needs. Provide CMM related support to M.E. (Manufacturing Engineer) and provide operator training for new processes or process improvements. Provide daily operator support in the form of CMM programming and troubleshooting support to the shop floor. Generate and support workstation instructions (methods) for CMM related issues. Initiate and lead process improvement projects to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost related to CMM processes. Provide effective communication to appropriate team members when needed. Work effectively as an individual and in a team-based environment in a matrixed organization. Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while embracing and driving positive change inside and outside the organization when appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Computer Science
  • Demonstrated experience through coursework, internship, co-op, capstone, or project work in metrology, dimensional inspection, manufacturing, or quality engineering

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated exposure to CMM programming or CMM operation through coursework, lab work, internship, co-op, or project experience
  • Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing, quality, inspection, or industrial environment
  • Exposure to metrology software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS, Polyworks, or similar
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.5M GD&T principles and inspection of complex mechanical components
  • Experience usings Siemens NX or similar CAD software to manipulate models for inspection planning or programming support
  • VBA, Python, or similar scripting/programming experience
  • Strong problem solving and organization skills, with above average shop math skills in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Demonstrated ability to work hands-on engineering projects, senior design, robotics, Formula SAE, BAJA, Motorsports, or similar fabrication-focused student teams
  • Ability to multi-task and productively manage multiple projects concurrently.
