About The Position

Summary of Position The CMM programmer / Operator is responsible for developing and maintaining measurement programs on Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), ensuring the accuracy of manufactured parts by creating detailed inspection routines based on engineering drawings, performing first article inspections, performing In-process inspections, and performing Final Inspections.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of Coordinate Measuring Machine programing software (PC-DMIS and Verisurf)
  • Must read Blueprints and have a strong knowledge of GD&T and the symbols.
  • Must understand Form, Fit and Function
  • Possess strong working knowledge of measurement tools, such as: micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMMs, measurement arms, and indicators.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of QMS systems and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are a must.
  • 3+ years of experience in a production/manufacturing and quality assurance environment using the criteria listed above.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and maintaining CMM programs needed to support First Article, In-Process, and final inspections.
  • Performing First Article, In-Process, and Final inspections using CMM.
  • Working with Production and Engineering to determine critical characteristics and developing inspection plans to validate part conformance.
  • Documenting First Article, In-Process, and final inspections.
  • Creating and submitting non-conformance reports.
  • Monitoring and controlling test equipment.
  • Training CMM Operators.
