About The Position

OSM is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CMM Programmer to be the foundational resource for our precision inspection processes. The CMM Programmer will be primarily responsible for the development, validation, and maintenance of all Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs using solid models and engineering drawings. This role requires technical expertise in metrology, strong collaboration with CNC and Quality teams, and a commitment to driving First Article Inspection (FAI) and process validation success. Requirements

  • Advanced understanding of CMM Software. (Modus, DMIS type etc.)
  • Advanced Computer skills. (Excel, Word, Outlook, Inspection Xpert, Minitab)
  • Communicate professionally in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Manufacturing Quality Control environment with a focus on manufacturing preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline, ASQ certification, or equivalent experience required.
  • Due to the nature of our products and adherence to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the applicant must be a US Citizen, a lawful permanent resident of the US, or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3).

Responsibilities

  • Create CMM programs from solid models and/or engineering drawings- this requires interface with CNC machine programmers during development.
  • Provide support to the Quality team for initial execution of CMM programs, and as needed.
  • Support for Plex Control Plan creation/revision.
  • Coordinate/Execute First Article Inspection Documentation.
  • Create Production Inspection Documentation.
  • Assist in Process Validations
  • Includes assisting in collection and compilation of process inspection data for capability indexing.
  • Assist/educate quality team members in the proper methods of measurement and verification.
  • Support for gage R&R
  • Develop and maintain procedural requirements as required to maintain current manufacturing regulations.
  • Provide support as liaison for customer issued SCAR's to respond with timely and appropriate corrective actions.
  • Provide support for quality continuous improvements (new equipment/process improvements etc.).
