The CMM Programmer will program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) including Leica with scanning technology, and other portable CMM’s with use of Polyworks software. This role approves the start of production through dimensional measurement of sample parts.

Requirements

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram format.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • The ability displayed and accuracy of work produced, meeting company standards, and requiring little to no rework.
  • Searches out new tasks and expands their ability to perform assigned tasks without direct supervision.
  • Punctuality and attendance.
  • Willingness and cooperativeness with co-workers and supervisors; ability to accept constructive criticism.
  • Follow quality environmental policies and have knowledge of AS9100 and IS14001.
  • Follow safety procedures, security protocol, and wear proper PPE.
  • High School Diploma and three to five years related experience. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three to five years related experience.
  • GD&T experience for print reading.
  • Basic caliper, micrometer, and bore gage knowledge.
  • Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, qualifies, and maintains CMM programs.
  • Inspects and approves first piece at start of production.
  • Inspects and approves final inspections prior to delivery.
  • Reads blueprints to determine specifications and tolerances for a variety of milled, and fabricated weldments.
  • Ensures that containment activities take place when discrepancies are identified.
  • Work with Production leads to relay and interpret inspection findings.
  • Review and refine data collection requirements according to customer drawings, models, work orders, purchase orders, sketches and PPAP requirements.
  • Participates in the corrective action and preventative action processes.
  • Participates in Gage R & R Studies.
  • Utilizes a wide variety of inspection tools to complete dimensional reports.
