The CMM Programmer is responsible for dimensionally checking start-ups, fixes, alterations, and die P.M. layouts for conformance to blueprint specifications and revisions. This role includes performing periodic visual inspections of die cast and trimmed parts, contriving formulae for computing dimensional information, and inspecting and calibrating gages, fixtures, and tooling as required. The CMM Programmer will also write computerized programs to run on CMM, evaluate dimensional results, generate and organize PPAP documentation, and work with Engineering and Tool Room to ensure parts conform to specifications.

  • Dimensionally check start-ups, fixes, alterations, die P.M. layouts for conformance to blueprint specifications and revisions.
  • Perform periodic visual inspection of die cast and trimmed parts.
  • Contrive formulae for computing otherwise unobtainable dimensional information.
  • Inspect and calibrate gages, fixtures, tooling as required and conduct GR&R studies before being used in manufacturing, inspection and die repair.
  • Inspect segments, cores and other die parts when needed.
  • Write computerized programs to run on CMM, including Castings, Die Steel Cores, Segments and Customer Concerns.
  • Evaluate dimensional results for sample activities (i.e. new tooling, engineering changes and customer concerns/complaints).
  • Generate and organize PPAP documentation for submittal and maintain PPAP files and records.
  • Work with Engineering and Tool Room to ensure parts conform to specifications and provide input for layout fixture designs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years experience performing inspection, gaging and calibration in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years operating CMM software.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • $1000 SIGN ON BONUS!!
  • Starting rate up to $28/hour based on experience.
  • Performance/Comp reviews at 90 days, 6 months and 1 year.
