  • Determine program requirements based on design and engineering requirements.
  • Ensure that precision machinery is in working condition and properly calibrated.
  • Provide directions to machine operators.
  • Write or edit programs for precision machinery.
  • Know how to read blueprints and can specify measures before committing to final changes.
  • Follow different layouts to preview the machine work.
  • Take part in the improvement process effort by suggesting ideas to change the calibration and programming tasks to use fewer company resources.
  • Record measurements to compare the final product with project needs.
  • Know how to operate machine, troubleshoot functions, and program different features as required.
  • Use multitasking abilities to use different machines at the same time, as well as checking the fixtures and utilizing the gauge certification.
  • Conduct Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R) Studies.
  • Prepare test reports.
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy lab files, equipment and instrumentation history, maintenance and calibration logs and library of ASTM and ISO standards and specifications.
  • Assist engineers with product development by providing input on test results and analysis from product testing experience.
  • Assist with the development of new test resources as required.
  • Ensure that all materials necessary for the maintenance of the test area are in stock.
  • Maintain test equipment per procedures.
  • Perform calibration and certification of test equipment per requirements.
  • Maintain safety materials and ensure that all hazardous material is disposed of properly.
  • High School diploma required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Software Programming, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of previous work experience as a programmer in a coordinate measuring machine capacity required.
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) experience required.
  • Programming certifications is a plus.
  • Training and coursework in materials, laboratory testing, engineering and/or related technical classes or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
