The CMM Programmer/Operator position is a critical role within a leading CNC machine shop specializing in the aerospace and defense industries. This position focuses on ensuring the highest standards of manufacturing quality through precision programming and operation of CMM machines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CMM programming, quality control, and a commitment to excellence in a high-precision environment.

  • Program and operate CMM machines using PC-DMIS to inspect CNC-machined parts.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections adhering to GD&T specifications and ASME 14.5/Y standards.
  • Prepare and review First Article Test Reports to ensure parts meet customer requirements.
  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings accurately.
  • Anticipate and address potential inspection or programming issues to maintain production workflows.
  • Collaborate with machinists, operators, and quality inspectors to uphold product quality.
  • Maintain thorough records of inspections, calibrations, and test results.
  • Suggest and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency and quality.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a CMM Programmer/Operator in high-precision industries.
  • Proficiency in PC-DMIS software, GD&T (ASME 14.5/Y), and calibration processes.
  • Hands-on experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail to meet tight tolerances required for aerospace components.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Familiarity with late-model CNC equipment such as Mori Seiki, Fadal, Star, Flow, Amada, and Mitsubishi.
  • Previous experience calibrating and operating CMM equipment in a certified quality environment.
